Activities To Welcome Spring In Hercules
Spring is nearly here, which means that as the temperatures rise, folks across the country will be looking for fun activities to welcome that return to a funner and more festive season. Birds will be chirping, the trees will be in bloom, and for residents in places like the Aventine Apartments, it won’t be a difficult matter to find a few things to do to celebrate the ascendance of Spring.
The city of Hercules, along with other nearby areas in the Bay Area, will have plenty going on, and you’ll definitely want to check a few of these out. From festivals to sports programs and beyond, the region will be brimming with activity, so read on to learn more about all the amazing things that will be in store. Here’s how you should be getting ready for March 20th.
Here’s How To Bring In Spring The Right Way
First and foremost, you’ll want to check out the official activity guide for Hercules. This assemblage of events covers many of the new programs and camps that the area has to offer. You’ll have to register in advance, but once you do, you’ll be treated to a range of activities that cover:
Adult Programs Aquatics Day Trips and Extended Trips Events Facility and Outdoor Rentals School Year Programs Senior Center Programs Six & Under Programs Youth/Teen Programs
You can view a full electronic version of the activity guide here, but let’s take a look at a few highlights, shall we? For adults, there are fine offerings like the Oil Painting classes, which take place at the Community Center Dynamite Room and in the Community Center Press Room. These offer the chance to “have fun while learning to paint, mix, and combine colors, shadows and composition perspective.”
Basically, if you’ve wanted to learn how to work a canvas, this will be your opportunity to gain those necessary skills to become an artistic master. If you’d prefer to get your heart pumping, though, there are also chances to move your body, like Jazzercise, taking place at the Teen Center:
“Jazzercise is a pulse-pounding, beat-pumping, body-blasting fitness program that gets you results...fast! It’s a high intensity dance party that fuses cardio, strength, pilates, hip hop, yoga, and kickboxing. Burn up to 800 calories per hour in any of our 60 minute classes!”
For kids, there are similar offerings, like the beginner ballet and tap classes. Here, the younglings will learn the joy of dance as they engage in a comprehensive curriculum that focuses on the foundations of ballet and tap movements while teaching them terminology and definitions of different dance concepts. It all culminates in a themed recital for them to show off their skills.
Of course, some kids would prefer a competition-oriented form of activity, which is where Starlings Volleyball club comes into play. Based at the Hercules community center, this program is all about getting the young ones ready for the upcoming volleyball season:
“Starlings wants to help your child prepare for club tryouts by teaching them some fundamental skills commonly used in the sport of volleyball. This weekly clinic will be taught by Dave Beza, a seasoned coach of over 14 years at the high school and college level.”
There are many more events and programs going on for all ages, so be sure to review those activity guides to learn more about what this spring will have in store for interested Hercules residents. There’s plenty more fun to be had, though, and if you’re interested in checking out some interesting day trips…
