Luxury Apartment Must have Amenities

Located on the coast of the San Pablo Bay between San Francisco and Napa, the city of Hercules offers a beautiful backdrop for residents coupled with peerless comfort and an abundance of luxuries. The "Dynamic City On The Bay" has also been voted one of Forbes most livable suburbs and has plenty of hard evidence backing up the rather fantastic claim.

Historically, this was a "company town," fueled by the local powder industry. Some of the old buildings from that bygone era still stand and have even been nominated for the National Register of Historic Places. Today, however, the city has taken on a new appearance, and in spite of rapid population growth and the construction of many new residences and apartments in Hercules, CA, it has managed to maintain a sense of small-town charm that would normally be reserved for other locales. Just how did they manage such a transition?

All It Takes Is Planning

Unlike many suburbs that have fallen victim to unchecked sprawl and reckless expansion, the city of Hercules has taken steps to manage its growth. The result is a well planned, uniquely designed area that is easy to traverse, pedestrian friendly, and steadily changing with new developments and forward thinking constructions.

Like any town, there's nightlife, daylife, shopping, and plenty of sights to see. Perhaps most notable, though, is Hercules' incredible location. As mentioned, the town is situated on the Southeastern shore of the San Pablo Bay, and covers an area of about 18 square miles. Looking at the map, you'll see that the city is only a short travel from Richmond, Berkeley, and Oakland. Across the water, one could easily make it to sunny Sausalito or San Francisco. To the north, Vallejo and the San Pablo Wildlife Refuge sit prominently.

The scenery in this town is amazing. Views of the bay and rolling hills further inland prove to be a photographer's dream. Parks make up a large part of the land here, and there are more than 98 acres of parkland in total around the city. Unsurprisingly, the water plays a big role in this community, as it is so easily accessible and rather hard to miss!

Getting around is no challenge, as Hercules provides easy access to both I-80 and State Route 4, connecting it to other nearby towns. Public transportation, in the form of the WestCat system, can get residents around to neighboring communities with relative ease. Two airports are located nearby: Oakland International and San Francisco International, providing residents with easy access to travel by air as well.

Hercules has a low crime rate, great schools, and is an ethnically diverse community as well. Of the 25,000 or so people that live here, about 27% are White, 18% are Black, 42% are Asian, 10% are Hispanic, and the remainder come from Native American, Pacific Islander, and other backgrounds.

Hercules is also fairly affluent town, with a median household income near $88,000. Coupled with the mild Mediterranean Climate, proximity to the beautiful bay, and a conscious city planning, it's no surprise that this lovely town is on the upswing.
